The Wake Forest Police Department on Monday announced the top six high-risk intersections in the town based on the number of crashes reported between 2021 and 2023.
Beginning with the most crashes, the intersections are as follows:

- Capital Boulevard (U.S. 1)/Agora Drive/Wake Union Church Road – 40 crashes
- Capital Boulevard (U.S. 1)/Dr. Calvin Jones Highway (N.C. 98 Bypass) – 39 crashes
- Capital Boulevard (U.S. 1)/Burlington Mills Road – 32 crashes
- Dr. Calvin Jones Highway/South Main Street (U.S. 1) - 30 crashes
- Capital Boulevard (U.S. 1)/Stadium Drive/Jenkins Road - 25 crashes
According to the town of Wake Forest, speed, inattention and distracted driving caused most of the crashes.
Police officers will continue patrolling the busy intersections but ask drivers to be aware when using them.
