66-year-old woman killed in Durham crash, car struck tree

A woman died Wednesday night in a crash in Durham after her car ran off the road and struck a tree.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers with the Durham Police Department responded to a single-car crash on U.S. Highway 15-501 near Coach K Highway.

According to police, Deborah Kay Wright, 66, was traveling in the northbound lanes when her 2006 Scion TC ran off the roadway and hit a tree.

Wright died from her injuries at a local hospital.
