Deputies: NC State student found dead at off-campus home

The Wake County Sheriff's Office said Thursday it is investigating the death of a North Carolina State University student.

According to deputies, they responded Wednesday to a home at Olive Road in Raleigh, where they found the body of Patrick Thomas Sullivan, 21, in his room.

It marks the ninth N.C. State student death since the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

Deputies said initial indications show the death was accidental, but the investigation is ongoing and they are waiting for an official report from the Medical Examiner before determining a cause of death.
