A Durham paramedic is on administrative leave and charged with a crimes after controlled substances were found to have been tampered with.

A Durham EMS supervisor last Saturday found that someone had tampered with a vial of a controlled substance in a secure access storage safe.

On Sunday, an EMS review found other similar vials with "clear evidence of tampering."

EMS notified the Durham County Sheriff's Office on Monday.

On Friday, deputies arrested Aubrey Lynne Reinhard, 33, and charged her with embezzlement of state property, identity theft, injuring, destroying, removing, vandalizing or tampering with firefighting emergency equipment and possession of a controlled substance.
