Carowinds to begin year-round operations in 2023

Carowinds will not be closing after the holidays this year.

The amusement park announced this week that it will be open year-round starting Jan. 1, 2023.

Carowinds said the expansion could enhance the local tourism and travel industries, create jobs to support economic growth for the entire region.

The park will also be celebrating its 50th anniversary at the start of the new year. Carowinds is the country's only amusement park that stretches across two states.
