Wake County Sheriff's Office holds briefing on murder of deputy Ned Byrd
on this morning to be able to share that
Uh One of the suspects that we believe is involved
in the death of deputy ned Berke has been charged
with murder in that case subject
Arturo's so tele was booked into our jail this morning
at approximately 8 30 between 8 39 o'clock this morning
It's been round the clock work by this agency and
others that I'll be speaking about in just a few
minutes
I'll be bringing forth lieutenant Adams uh who was a
member of this office on criminal investigative division to provide
statement
We will not accept any questions and that is because
we still have a very active investigation going on and
we're I'm determined to preserve the integrity of our efforts
to make sure that we do this and do it
the right way and not through the media but through
investigation through evidence and through case preparation for prosecution

Just to reiterate what the sheriff said after an exhausting
investigation we are happy to inform the public that one
suspect is in custody future rest are expected
Our team's still following up leads
Uh and I want to make it very clear it
is an active investigation and we urge the public to
come forward with any additional information that may be able
to provide us
Uh and they can do that by calling the tip

Those lines are man 24 hours a day
And again we encourage anybody that may have information to
assist us and all the partners that are helping us
out to come forward
It is correct that the bulletin that we had placed
out and posted the reference to the vehicle the truck
that we were looking for has been located
Um And again we're working on some very very necessary
other components um to to this case
And so the work continues uh has been a concerted
effort

A lot of our efforts uh thus far involved some
things that were occurring in Forsyth County
Uh and we had the support from the foresight Sheriff
who is here
Um All we had to do was call to make
some of the things happen with the support that we
needed in that county
So I do want to acknowledge that on top of
everything else
Um We were not gonna stop until we brought these
individuals into justice were there and there's a little bit
more work to do
And we're going to go about doing that
Now we ask for your patience and making sure please
that we may be not able to confirm some of
the tips that are coming into you on but we
don't want to jeopardize or hinder our investigation and the
things that are necessary to make sure we get this
