Clayton police say they're considering juvenile charges after investigating a series of TikTok challenges. The latest challenge involved a student at Clayton Middle School bringing a toy gun to school.
Last year, police said they investigated 12 TikTok challenges involving students that happened off school grounds but did involve weapons.

While other TikTok challenges are known for having people whip out their cellphone, hit record and have a little fun, school leaders said there is nothing funny about the latest dare.
In a letter to parents, Clayton Middle School Principal Sandra Morris said school administrators were notified by a staff member that a student had brought a toy gun to school.
"It was a very real looking gun. It looks similar to the service weapons we carry," said Clayton Police Department Sergeant Jeff Young.
Police said the student's plan was to bring the toy gun to school without getting caught, and at the end of the day, record a TikTok video detailing how they got away with it.
"These TikTok challenges are very dangerous," said Young. "We have seen an uptick in TikTok challenges."
Young said after this latest event, it doesn't appear students are getting the message. Now, police said they're thinking about pursuing juvenile petitions, which could lead to a student being detained in juvenile detention, probation or under supervision by the juvenile system.
"Our concern is they are not taking it seriously," said Young.
Young added that Clayton police are prepared to use additional resources to show the challenges must stop.
