Sheriff: 2-year-old dies after being run over by construction equipment in Franklin County

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said Friday night a two year old has died after being run over by a skid-steer loader.

According to the sheriff's office, at around 5 p.m. emergency units were dispatched to Collins Mill Road in Franklin County after reports that a child had been struck by machinery.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the investigation revealed a 2-year-old had been unintentionally ran over by a family acquaintance operating a skid-steer loader, a type of multi-purpose equipment seen on some farms or construction sites.

The 2-year-old died due to the injuries sustained in the incident.
