Back-to-back storms and ongoing supply chain issues have made it difficult for local grocery stores to keep their shelves stocked.
WRAL News spent a day looking for essential groceries like milk, bread and eggs at Triangle area grocery stores.

At most Harris Teeter, Target and Walmart stores, a limited amount of essential items were available on Wednesday, but staff were busy stocking shelves.
Some Carlie C’s stores said they are missing some items on the shelves due to delayed shipments from last week's storm.
At Costco in Garner, shelves were fully stocked on Wednesday.
Many stores allow shoppers to see an updated list of available items online, although availability for online grocery ordering was not available until Sunday at most Walmart stores in the Triangle.
"Eggs, wine, chocolate is a big one," said Weaver Street Market Manager Micki McCarthy when asked what was selling on Thursday.
WRAL reporters found people to buying more dinner food items, baking supplies, and wine, chocolate and cheese. Store owners are anticipating customers “nesting” with their families and cooking, and are not as much concerned about power outages.
One customer was all about the ice cream.
"Anything indulgent," said Laura England. "Of course, I already got the ice cream sandwiches yesterday."
