Things to do in Durham this weekend

Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo (The Pavilion at Durham Central Park, 401 Foster Street, Durham) - Durham Central Park will hold a food truck rodeo on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It is their first food truck rodeo in more than a year and a half. There will be less trucks than previous events. Look for about 25 trucks to be out there in addition to beer and cider options.

Show me snakes reptile & exotics show (Durham, NC) (Durham Armory, 220 Foster St, Durham) - Learn about reptiles and shop for feeders and supplies at this event on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Durham Armory. This family-friendly event is geared to educate and introduce people to reptiles and exotic animals.

Escape to Margaritaville (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Welcome to Margaritaville, where people come to get away from it all--and stay to find something they never expected. This musical comedy features both original songs and your most-loved Jimmy Buffett classics. See it on stage at Durham Performing Arts Center through Sunday.

Durham Bulls Fall Fan Fest (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham) - The Durham Bulls will host a free fan fest this Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. You can play catch on the field, enjoy hayrides and even take batting practice. There will also be inflatables in the outfield. Admission is free, however fans must RSVP online and claim a ticket before the event in order to attend.

Things to do in Raleigh this weekend

21 Marbles (Marbles Kids Museum, 201 E Hargett St, Raleigh) - Marbles Kids Museum turns into a playground for adults on these special nights. 21 Marbles is for people 21 years and older. Friday night's event will be a celebration of the 70s, 80s and 90s. There will be themed-activities including Giant Jenga, human Foosball and retro crafts. Beer, wine and pizza are available for purchase. Tickets are still available. A limited number are being sold to reduce capacity.

The MAKRS Society Market (Midtown Park - Raleigh, 4011 Cardinal at North Hills Street,, Raleigh) - The MAKRS Society Markets at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park in North Hills will be held the 2nd Sunday of each month with a new batch of vendors. Check it out this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Stage

Mick Foley (Goodnight's Comedy Club/The Grille at Goodnight's, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - This WWE Hall of Famer is bringing his beloved book, "Have a Nice Day" to life on stage for a limited number of events. He'll be on stage at Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh on Sunday night. Per the CDC and local governments, we require all customers to enter the facility wearing a face covering or mask. When customers are seated, they are permitted to remove such covering while eating or drinking.

Party with the Pugs (NC State Fairgrounds - Holshouser Building, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh) - Head to the N.C. State Fairgrounds on Sunday to party with the pugs! This fundraiser for Pawsitively Pugs Rescue is from noon to 4 p.m. and will include a DJ, a pet photographer and the "running of the pugs." Admission is $5.

Darwin Days (N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 West Jones Street, Raleigh) - Learn about Darwin and what his theories of natural selection have done for the world of science, research and education. Meet some of the scientists who are continuing his work, and learn how Darwin's (and others') theories are being applied in cutting-edge research. The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences hosts this event on Saturday in the plaza in front of the museum. There will be activities and crafts.

Hello Kitty Cafe Truck returns to Raleigh this weekend - The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck, which was a huge hit when it stopped in Raleigh in 2018 and 2019, is coming back. It is back on Saturday at Triangle Town Center.

Family Fun Fest (Stable Life, 1034 Tarboro Road, Youngsville) - Stable Life in Youngsville will host this family fun fest on Sunday at 2 p.m. There will be chances to ride horses, crafts, hot dogs and games. Admission is $15 per person. Proceeds will be used to purchase new lesson horses and for equine medical needs.

Apex Night Market (Seaboard Street in Apex, Seaboard Street, Apex) - The Apex Night Market will be holding a special daytime market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be 25 vendors and social distancing guidelines will be followed. This event is all outdoors and masks are required.

Carolina Brewery Oyster Roast (Carolina Brewery & Grill (Pittsboro), 120 Lowes Drive Ste 100, Pittsboro) - Carolina Brewery in Pittsboro will be hosting its annual oyster roast Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. Oysters will be sold by the half-dozen and dozen. Admission is free.
