Two months after receiving vaccine, Illinois mom tests positive for COVID-19

Silver is a busy mom and sales manager for a
medical device company and says she jumped at the chance
to get vaccinated
I mean from what I read it was like 95%
efficacy
So I thought I was good
She received her second fighter shot in mid January
Are you still wearing masks and social distancing and all
that Absolutely so definitely wearing masks
I was social distancing
I was still being really careful
But then she says her two daughters came down with
Covid in late February and soon after she got sick
having been fully vaccinated for six weeks and then to
get a positive covid test I was shocked
I read that if someone vaccinated gets covid it's usually
very mild symptoms
But for two days my symptoms were not mild at
all
I was in bed very ill
According to the CDC the vaccine will help you from
getting seriously ill
Even if you do get covid we shouldn't be surprised
about you know some people still getting infected if they
especially if they have high risk exposures like a household
exposure
But what we shouldn't expect our severe infections because we
know the vaccines were highly protective against preventing hospitalizations
Meanwhile Silver says she's back to feeling good
She says she still has questions about what happened and
she wants to spread awareness
Do you still think it's important that people go out
and get vaccinated I 100% do
I could only imagine not having the vaccine um and
getting covid and how much worse it would be
I do feel like it protected me against hospitalization and
and God forbid death
