The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services defines a cluster as a minimum of five cases linked to each other.
School officials said none of those involved in the cluster have been at the school since Nov. 23.
“The school had two reported cases on November 24. Today, we learned about three additional cases. Based on contract tracing, we believe these cases can be reasonably connected,” states Dr. James Merrill, WCPS superintendent.
Since Aug. 10, 209 people have tested positive in the school district.
