Family of 5 displaced by fire in Apex home night before Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has had a sad start for a family of five in Apex, whose home was heavily damaged by fire overnight Wednesday.

Fire officials said there is major damage on the first floor, and the family has been displaced from their home.

The fire took place on Van Gogh Lane.

There has been no word yet on what caused the fire.

One thing to be thankful for – everyone made it out safely.
