Drivers identified in fatal Fayetteville crash

One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday night.

One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash that happened in Fayetteville Tuesday evening.

Fayetteville police have identified the drivers involved in a crash Tuesday night on Country Club Drive.

The crash occurred before 6:30 p.m. when two vehicles collided, causing one to strike a pole. Christine Harris, 57, who was driving a white Honda, was ejected from her car. Harris was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she later died.

Jonathan Fambro, 28, was in a white Dodge. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police remained on the scene Tuesday night investigating the crash. Eastbound lanes of Country Club Drive were temporarily closed from Rosehill Road to Harveydale Drive. Police asked drivers to avoid the area.
