Governor visits Windsor in wake of fatal tornado

Gov. Roy Cooper visits Windsor a day after a tornado spawned by Hurricane Isaias demolished a neighborhood in the Bertie County town, killing two people.

Governor Roy Cooper saw the destruction in Windsor for himself

which we learned a short time ago was caused by

a powerful E F three tornado

Governor Roy Cooper was in Bertie County earlier today

That tornado prompted by Hurricane Zaius ripped through a mobile

home park and Windsor early Tuesday

Today we're learning more about the victims

We now know the names of those victims 62 year

old Randolph Harold Harold Rather and 52 year old Lithia

and Edwards

And this is because of what happened here Tuesday early

morning when a tornado touched down

Frankly by looking at all of this so many people

in the area say they're surprised that more people were

killed

It's only once you enter the mobile home park in

Windsor that you can finally see what the tornado truly

took

I'm so sorry this happened

Governor Roy Cooper met with the victims who lost their

homes and loved ones

I'm so sorry

It's got to be a tough time for your family

She was in her mobile home when the storm hit

early Tuesday

Swain says she worked at an assisted living home caring

for the elderly and when she was off the clock

she cared for him

She'll good cook and everything

I'm a missile coming to my house my girlfriend doing

her hair and stuff like Did she laughing Smiled and

stuff

Lithia and Edwards was 52 years old

I just I just can't believe it

It just it's a whole breaking that So

this area is just devastated

Everyone seemed to know everyone very close knit community here

and they are hurting right now
