Although the adoption center is closed to the public to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the SPCA of Wake County is finding ways to help find homes for pets in need.
The SPCA announced Tuesday that it would be live streaming video of adoptable pets daily at 2 p.m. on the SPCA's Facebook page starting Tuesday. Staff members plan to tour the adoption center and meet with each adoptable pet on camera.

Dubbed the "Home Adopting Network,"the new video feature will allow potential adopters to communicate directly with the camera operator to ask questions about the pets.
Anyone wishing to adopt an animal seen on the video, can fill out a survey and email it to the SPCA of Wake County. A one-on-one appointment will be set up later that week.
“The goal of the daily Home Adopting Network stream is two-fold: to find homes for our pets, and to show how donations needed to continue this work,” SPCA spokesperson Darci VanderSlik said. “Can’t adopt today? Make a donation toward a pet’s care instead!”
VanderSlik said the coronavirus pandemic caused the SPCA to postponed two of its largest fundraising events, one of which usually raised more than $250,000.
