Rise to start serving doughnuts again

Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chickenis bringing back doughnuts.

The business announced via Facebook on Tuesday that doughnuts would return to the menu at all locations starting Thursday. Flavors will include double glazed, vanilla icing with sprinkles, chocolate icing, apple fritter and a special seasonal flavor that will rotate throughout the year.

Owners announced in April that the business would be changing its name and menu to focus on its popular biscuits and reducing the doughnut selection available and eliminating doughnuts at some locations.

Rise was founded in 2012 in Durham and now has more than 15 locations throughout the southeast.

Rise was awarded the WRAL.com Voters' Choice Award for best biscuits for the past two years. It is a finalist for this year's award.
