Woman dies when oxygen tank explodes inside Nash County home

A woman was killed Tuesday morning in an explosion at her Nash County home.

Before 8 a.m., firefighters responded to a home on Crowned Court near Middlesex.

According to the Nash County Sheriff's Office, the 61-year-old woman was smoking a cigarette while using her oxygen tank.

There was an explosion, which resulted in her death.

Officials said her husband called 911 to report the fire.
