Silver Alert canceled for missing Durham couple

The Silver Alert for a missing Durham couple has been canceled.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons canceled the alert for John Frederick Garst and Edna Lois Garst. No further information was provided on the couple or their condition.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Durham couple.

John Frederick Garst and Edna Lois Garst are both believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

John Garst is 87, 6-foot-0 and 185 pounds. He has short gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a khaki jacket, a cream shirt, khaki pants and was carrying a brown cane.

Edna Garst is 86, 5-foot-0 and 130 pounds with medium length gray hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray sweater, a red turtleneck, gray pants and carrying a pink cane.

Both are believed to be in a black 2016 Subaru Crosstrek with NC plates FAZ-1442.
