A cold front is closing in on the Triangle.
While Thursday’s high reached the mid-70s, temperatures will have a drastic decrease dropping into the 20s by Saturday morning.

"Rain is going to be heading our way this evening," WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell said. "First the front brings rain and behind the rain comes the much cooler air," she said.
About half an inch of rain could fall in the Triangle. The Friday morning commute should be clear.
A cold front is moving in behind the rain, and Friday’s high will reach only 52 degrees.
"We have a 40 degree plus drop in temperatures expected in less than 48 hours," Campbell said. "By Saturday morning we'll see our first hard freeze of the season. 26 degrees in Raleigh, 28 in Fayetteville, and 21 degrees in Roxboro early Saturday morning."
Saturday’s high will be in the 50s, but starting out in the mid 20s.
By Sunday, we will see temperatures warming back up to the 60s. We have to get through the rain first though.
Temperatures in the 20s return overnight Tuesday, when the low is expected to be 26 degrees.
