Do you know who I am? A Dementia Training Program

"Do You Know Who I Am?" is an Alzheimer's and related dementia training program for professional caregivers. It is participatory, interactive, and innovative in its approach.

Participants will learn how to work with individuals with dementia, especially Alzheimer's, in a way that is more rewarding for the professional caregiver and more empathetic to the needs of the individual who is under their care.

Specifically, participants will better understand the disease process, implement failure-free techniques to create a positive experience while delivering assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), learn how to apply effective communication techniques, and identify, experience, and calm common dementia behaviors.

Upon completion of this nationally-known training developed by Transitions/Guiding Lights, participants will have gained the necessary tools to create a successful day for themselves and for the special people for whom they provide care. They will also receive 7 Continuing Education Units from DHSR.
