Cary officer part of three-vehicle crash on Saturday

Cary police said an officer was part of three-vehicle accident that happened on Saturday.

Officials said an on-duty officer in a marked vehicle was traveling down Walnut Street, approaching the Dillard Drive intersection, in Cary. The officer didn't break in time and rear-ended a vehicle, which then rear-ended another vehicle.

The officer, who was not named, sustained minor injuries. There were no injuries to people in the other vehicles.

Officials were not aware of any charges against the officer.
