The next few days will be hot and humid with a chance for storms, and fall-like weather won't return until next week.
"For the next three days, high temperatures will hover near 90 degrees," said WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell.

There is a 30 percent chance for storms in Raleigh on Thursday afternoon, and temperatures could climb into the low 90s. The forecast high in Raleigh for Thursday is 92 degrees, just shy of the heat record of 93 degrees set in 1933.
Friday will be a few degrees cooler than Thursday, but still very warm, with a high in the upper 80s. There is another 30 percent chance for afternoon showers and storms, particularly south of the Triangle, according to Campbell.
Saturday and Sunday will be more of the same, with intense heat and a chance for scattered afternoon storms.
Sunday, like Thursday, could beat a heat record. The forecast high for Raleigh is 92 degrees, which is the record high for the date set back in 1941.
Although it could rain every day, the weekend is not expected to be a washout.
Monday will be the first "milder" day, with temperatures in the mid 80s.
