Wake school board names 4 principals, 9 assistant principals, 2 senior staff

The Wake County Board of Education voted Tuesday to name four principals, nine assistant principals and two central services staffers after a closed session meeting to discuss the personnel changes.

The changes are as follows:

Principals

Lori Nelson has been named principal at Briarcliff Elementary School in Cary. She previously served as assistant principal at Weatherstone Elementary School in Cary.

Kathryn Caggia has been named principal at Apex Elementary School. She previously served as principal at Glenwood Elementary School in Chapel Hill.

Debbie Ray has been named principal at Crossroads FLEX High School in Cary. She previously served as assistant principal at Wake STEM Early College High School in Raleigh.

Catherine Trudell has been named principal at Wendell Middle School. She previously served as principal at Clayton Middle School.

Assistant principals

Tonya Hannah has been named assistant principal at Knightdale High School. She was previously a teacher at the school.

Sarah Robertson has been named assistant principal at Green Hope High School in Cary. She was previously a teacher at Enloe High School in Raleigh.

Samuel Brick has been named assistant principal at Enloe High School in Raleigh. He was previously a teacher at Silk Hope School in Siler City.

Michael McCotter has been named assistant principal at Carnage Middle School in Raleigh. He was previously a teacher at Centennial Campus Middle School in Raleigh.

Keith McLendon has been named assistant principal at Lufkin Road Middle School in Apex. He was previously assistant principal at East Cary Middle School.

Katie Rossini has been named assistant principal at Wakefield High School in Raleigh. She was previously assistant principal at Poolesville High School in Poolesville, Md.

Jennifer Hawkins has been named assistant principal at Hortons Creek Elementary School in Cary. She was previously an intervention coordinator at West Lake Middle School in Cary.

Emily Hardee has been named assistant principal at Brentwood Elementary School in Raleigh. She was previously a STEM magnet coordinator at the school.

Denise Keyser has been named assistant principal at Cedar Fork Elementary School in Morrisville. She was previously an assistant principal/instructional facilitator at the school.

Central services

Wade Martin has been named assistant superintendent for school choice, planning and assignment. He was previously principal at Middle Creek High School in Apex.

Allison Reid has been named senior director for digital learning and libraries. She previously served as teacher trainer for instructional technology and library media services.
