Temperatures climbed into the low 80s Sunday afternoon, but the work week will be even warmer.
According to WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell, after a milder Monday, summer temperatures will move in midweek.

Monday will be a little cooler than Sunday, but still warm, with highs in the mid-70s. Then, temperatures spike to the upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.
"It is going to be a toasty week," Campbell said.
While a sprinkle or two is possible Monday, the day should be dry. Tuesday and Wednesday will be clearer and hot. A high of 87 degrees is expected in Raleigh both days.
A chance for rain and thunderstorms comes for Thursday and Friday, but temperatures will stay , in the 80s.
