For Triangle residents, a visit to Unscripted Durham is a stay-cation. The retro hotel's vibe is relaxed yet luxurious, and that's exactly what the new spring and summer patio menu feels like.
Shrimp cocktail shooters, tomato and mozzarella skewers, jumbo lump crab cakes, lettuce wraps, veggie burger sliders, cheddar bacon croquettes and a rich orange chocolate lava cake are a few items hotel guests and visitors can enjoy by the hotel's trendy rooftop pool.

While much of the menu is new, several Unscripted staples remain.
Two of the most popular menu items are the patio burger, which features candied bacon and blue cheese, and a veggie burger made with quinoa and dried cranberries that you don't have to be a vegetarian to love.
The Patio at Unscripted is open April through late October. During that time, the full menu can be enjoyed at a table overlooking the Durham skyline or in a lawn chair by the pool, giving the whole experience a vacation-like feel.
Unscripted opened in the heart of downtown Durham in the summer of 2017 at the site of the old Jack Tar Motor Lodge at 202 N. Corcoran St.
The modern hotel features 74 guest rooms but is a popular stop for locals, especially during patio season.
