Report from new Chris Watts interviews expected next week

Investigators from several agencies recently interviewed Chris Watts to get further insight into the murder of his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their two daughters.

Watts, a Fayetteville native, pleaded guilty in November to killing the three and hiding their bodies near their Colorado home.

Because he pleaded guilty, there was no trial in the case. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Audio files and a report from the new interviews are expected to be released next week under the Colorado Open Records Act.

Shanann Watts, who grew up in Aberdeen, and 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste were reported missing on Aug. 13. Their bodies were found on Aug. 16 on the property of one of Colorado's largest oil and gas drillers where her husband used to work.

In November, video released by the district attorney handling the case showed some evidence investigators used to solve the murders, including a neighbor's security video showing Chris Watts backing his pickup truck into the garage around 5:30 on Aug. 13, just after murdering Shanann, Celeste and Bella.
