Weather

Most of the country will be battling wet weather Sunday. A storm will stretch from the Midwest into the Great Lakes, bringing periods of snow from Nebraska and northern Kansas to Michigan and Wisconsin. The heaviest snow is expected to fall across Iowa and central Wisconsin.

The same storm will bring a streak of rain showers from central Missouri to southern Michigan, as well as rain across much of the Northeast. However, many parts of the Northeast will be drier in the afternoon, other than northern New England.

The front extending from this storm will bring some showers and thunderstorms to the Delmarva Peninsula, the Carolinas and into Florida. Some thunderstorms in the Southeast could bring gusty winds.

Dry weather is expected from the Tennessee Valley to Texas, but another storm will bring wet weather to parts of the West. Snow will fall from eastern Oregon to northern New Mexico, with some rain across central parts of New Mexico.

A brief period of dry weather will settle into California, allowing for sunshine.

Focus: Unseasonable Warmth in Florida

Daily record highs will be challenged across South Florida into Monday as unseasonable warmth grips the region. Daytime temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees above average for early December. The warmth will not last long, though, as cooler air will spill in by midweek.
