Expect pleasant Sunday before cloudy Monday

Sunday is expected to be pleasant for the City of Oaks Marathon as Daylight Saving Time ends.

There will be with a 5 percent chance of rain and temperatures in the 60s, WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell said.

Clouds cover will appear Sunday evening, and chances of rain increase to 30 percent Monday and Tuesday.

“It’s not going to be a washout, but we do have a number of systems that are going to bring the threat of at least scattered showers and thunderstorms to start the week,” Campbell said.

While Monday will likely see patchy showers in the Triangle, a strong cold front moving in could bring severe weather to the west and more rain to central North Carolina on Tuesday.

By Wednesday, systems are expected to move out for a calm remainder of the week.
