Storms that moved through the Triangle on Wednesday night spared all the major Fourth of July fireworks displays and more rain remains in the forecast for the coming days.
Strong storms moved through Wake County between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., prompting severe thunderstorm warnings, but the weather quickly dissipated.

"All is quieting down, but we could see a repeat tomorrow," WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.
Maze said that there will be another chance for rain and storms with gusty winds and lightning on Thursday, particularly in the evening hours.
Rain chances will get stronger Friday and Saturday, as a cold front that will bring significantly cooler temperatures moves into the Triangle.
"There's still a big question mark about Saturday. That day's not set in stone, but it's going to be 78 degrees now," Maze said.
