Crash on I-40 near Garner linked to heavy traffic congestion

Motorists in the Garner area faced significant traffic gridlock Morning morning after a crash on Interstate 40 west at White Oak Road.

The delay for drivers who were on N.C. Highway 42 and traveling to I-440 approached nearly an hour as crews worked to remove the crash and the debris from the roadway.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or if any injuries were reported.

To get around the congestion, drivers can pick up I-40 west from 70 Business in Clayton or use N.C. Highway 50.
