Things will be getting strange in the Bull City this summer.

The Durham Bullsannounced Friday that it will host its first"Stranger Things" Night at the ballpark on July 13 when they take on the Charlotte Knights. The team will wear specially-designed uniforms based on Netflix series' fan favorite character Dustin Henderson, who wears a backpack and trucker hat throughout the series.

In addition to the uniforms, look for references to the Upside Down, Christmas Lights, Demogorgons and waffles. There will also be a tribute to some of show's fallen characters. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character or wear 1980s-inspired clothing.

"Stranger Things" has a Bull City connection. The show was created byDurham natives and Jordan High School alumni Matt and Ross Duffer.Though the show is set in fictional Hawkins, Indiana, it has contained numerous references to Durham locales, including Jordan Lake, the Eno River and Cornwallis Road.

“'Stranger Things' is one of the country’s most popular shows right now, and it’s captured a very nostalgic piece of viewer’s hearts,” Durham Bulls Vice President Mike Birling said. “With the show’s popularity, its Durham ties and its endless creativity, we couldn’t wait any longer to host a night of this magnitude.”

The team's uniforms will be auctioned off throughout the night with proceeds will go to charity.

Since the event falls on a Friday night, fans will also be able to enjoy a special Friday Night Fireworks show with a 1980s soundtrack.

Tickets for the event start at $7.99.

The Durham Bulls' season opener is Thursday, April 5, also against the Charlotte Knights. The night will also include giveaways and post-game fireworks.

"Stranger Things" Night is just one of the promotional nightsplanned for the Durham Bulls this season. "Star Wars" Night returns on May 4.
