Man robbed while making musical recording

A Lithonia man in Covington to make a musical recording ended up being robbed at gunpoint by two men.

According to a release from the Covington Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Nov. 13. Officers responded to an armed robbery call at a home on Griffin Lane. The victim told them he was robbed by two males who then fled the scene.

The victim said he had been introduced to one of the males through his cousin, with plans to make a musical recording. He was brought to the residence by his girlfriend, who knew one of the males in the house.

While making the recording, the victim said both males left the room, then returned, with one of them carrying a rifle and the other carrying a handgun. One of the males told the victim to take off his pants. He stated that he told them it wasn't worth it and gave them his wallet containing $700 in cash and a bank card.

The victim said both male suspects then ran from the house through the back door.

Detectives are investigating tips about the incident and have possibly identified both male suspects. Warrants are being taken out for their arrest.
