Downtown Raleigh retailer DECO, which is known for its unique gifts and items from local artisans, will be moving to a new location in early Spring.
Pam Blondin opened DECOin November 2012 at 19 W. Hargett St. DECO Home, which offers small furnishing and other home goods, opened last year in the same building.

DECO will combine both businesses under one roof just around the corner at 207 S. Salisbury St. in part of a building recently purchased by MDO Holdings. The building at 208 Fayetteville St., which used to house the North Carolina State Bar, has entrances on Fayetteville and Salisbury streets.
The front half of the ground floor that faces Fayetteville Street is expected to house another local consumer shop or restaurant, according to MDO Holdings.
"This is an excellent opportunity to grow DECO and, at the same time, to increase the number of locally-owned retail storefronts on this important downtown corner,” DECO owner Pam Blondin said.
DECO's new space will be double the size of its current shop, giving it the largest footprint for an independent retailer downtown.
The two storefronts DECO currently leases will be leased to other retailers.

“The corner of Hargett and Salisbury Streets is becoming one of our strongest retail corridors with the expansion and success of DECO,” Senior Director of Economic Development for the Downtown Raleigh Alliance Bill King said. “This move activates another previously vacant storefront, which creates street-level vibrancy and makes downtown even more attractive for workers, residents, and visitors.”
DECO will be celebrating its 5th anniversary this week with special sales and complimentary, locally made goodies from downtown businesses including Videri, lucettegrace and Bittersweet.
Following its anniversary clearance sale this week, DECO Home will close Sunday. The space will become a Holiday Pop-Up Shop for online retailer Raleigh Vintage.
