Earlier this week, I made a turkey breast in the slow cooker and what goes better with turkey than dressing (AKA stuffing)?! Here's my easy recipe for Mushroom Dressing. By the way, do you call it Dressing or Stuffing?

Ingredients
4 - 5 slices bread (I usually use 100% whole wheat bread from the pan size 20 oz loaves), torn or cut in to 1/2 inch pieces.
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
3 stalks celery, sliced
1/2 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon olive oil or vegetable oil (to saute the vegetables)
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon dried sage
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Pepper to taste
1 - 1.5 cups chicken broth
Directions
Saute the mushrooms, celery and onion in the oil until they begin to get tender. In a large bowl, mix together the bread, sauteed vegetables, spices and enough chicken broth to moisten all the bread without soaking it.
Bake in a greased 7 x 11 inch pan (or 8 x 8 pan) at 350 degrees F for approximately 30 minutes until your desired level of browning.
This recipe is suitable for about 4 people. Double the recipe (and use a 9 x 13 inch pan) for a bigger batch.
Serve with gravy. Enjoy!
