Expect Traffic Delays for Holiday Travel

Anyone with plans to head out of town on area roads can expect the usual traffic delays. The North Carolina Department of Transportation lists a couple of potential hot spots.

Two lanes of Interstate-85 south from Durham to Orange County will be open this weekend, but the work zones will be active. Just north of Durham, I-85 north will be reduced to one lane from exit 182 to the US Highway 70 split.

All of I-85 North in Granville County will be reduced to one lane due to construction.

Last summer's rock slide in the mountains has now been completely cleared, leaving I-40 open and back to normal near Tennessee.
