Three Nominees Named for Renfer Post

Wake County lawyers have selected three Republicans as a possible replacements for former District Court Judge Susan Refner.

The names ofMary Boyce Wells,Paul Faison WinborneandAlice Stubbswill now go to Governor Jim Hunt. He has 60 days to choose a replacement.

Renfer was forced to leave the bench because of questionable court room behavior. A plea agreement barred her from being a judge again in North Carolina.
