Officials Tell Oxford Residents to Steer Clear of Creek

If you live in or plan to visit the Oxford area, state officials have a warning for you: Stay away from Coon Creek.

Officials say the creek has extremely high levels of fecal coliform bacteria following a sewage spill over the weekend.

Since May, major sewage spills have been reported in Kinston, Greensboro, Durham and Garner.
