NC State Test Plane Crashes in Johnston County

A model plane built by NC State teachers and students won't be taking off on anymore flights.

The 140-pound model FA-18 E Hornet crashed in a field at the Johnston County airport after losing a control part. No one was hurt.

NC State's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department built the plane as a test for the Navy.
