Man Drowns in Well

A man drowned in his backyard well Saturday as he manipulated its bucket.

Officials said Curtis Richardson, 51, tumbled into the well as he tried to get a drink. Witnesses said he went in head first.

It took rescuers an hour to get Richardson's body freed.

Officials said he had been drinking before he fell in the well.
