The Wayne County Sheriff's department is warning drivers to be cautious -- there's a man in the area pretending to be an officer.

Authorities say that on Friday a man driving a light-colored full-sized sedan with blue lights in the grille pulled over another driver in eastern Wayne County, and then stabbed him.

The assailant is described as a black male, between the ages of 25 and 35, weighing more than 200 pounds, and between 6'2" and 6'4" tall. At the time, he was wearing a dark blue or black police uniform.

Authorities advise motorists that if they ever question an officer's identity to wait to pull off the road into a well-lit public area.
