Attorneys for a Cary girl critically injured in a pool drain wrapped up their case today. Valerie Lakey, 3-years-old at the time, was seriously injured in the toddlers' pool at her neighborhood swim club.
She nearly died when she was partially disemboweled by the suction created in the drain. Her family is suing Sta-Rite, the company that makes the drain, for at least $35 million.
