One person died early Monday in a single-vehicle wreck on the ramp from Interstate 40 West to Wade Avenue, Raleigh police said.
The wreck happened at about 6:45 a.m. and forced authorities to shut down the ramp from I-40 West to Wade Avenue.

Authorities said the driver of the car lost control and struck a tree. The person's name has not been released.
No one else was inside the vehicle.
The ramp reopened to traffic at about 10:45 a.m.
