Supporters came out and opponents stayed home in balloting Tuesday on a proposal to allow wine and beer sales in three Harnett County unincorporated townships.
Unofficial Board of Elections results from six of the seven precincts in three unincorporated townships showed that the measures won handily. The lowest "yes" vote for either the wine or the beer question was 64 percent.

Turnout was low, however โ 1,223 ballots cast out of 13,398 eligible voters.
Each ballot contained two questions โ one for malt beverages and one for unfortified wine.
The referendum affected the townships of Anderson Creek, Upper Little River and Johnsonville.
