People who live in Durham are invited to speak out about violence in their city and what can be done to prevent it.
Mayor Nick Tennyson is holding a series of town meetings to get solutions from the Durham community.

The first two meetings are scheduled July 15 at 10 a.m. at the following locations:
The meetings are one of three measures announced in May by the mayor to help reduce violent crime in Durham. So far this year, 17 people have been murdered in the city.
Several other town meetings are being planned, those dates are yet to be scheduled.
