Dunn man charged in shooting death of son

Sampson County deputies say a Dunn man has been charged in the weekend shooting death of his son.

Jerry Calvin Dale II was shot at about 4 p.m. Sunday at his home on Butterfly Lane and died at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, authorities said.

Investigators determined that Dale was shot during an altercation with his father.

Jerry Calvin Dale Sr. 47, of 1281 Union Grove Church Road, was charged with murder and was being held without bond in the Sampson County jail.
