Convalescent Center Fined for Wheelchair Accident

Rex Convalescent Care Centeris being fined $7,000 for anaccident November 21.

Mary Hales, 97, was in a wheelchair when she wheeled out of an unlocked door and fell six feet off of a loading dock.

Rex Convalescent Care Center says it has taken steps to correct the problem and will not contest the fine.

Hales died at the center over the holidays.
