Missing 79-year-old Edgecombe man found

UPDATE: The alert for Wadsworth was canceled early Monday.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Sunday for a 79-year-old man who went missing in Elm City.

George Albert Wadsworth is white, stands 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes.

A photo of Wadsworth was not immediately available Sunday evening.

The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office said he was last seen on Speights Chapel Road wearing a green knit hat, a blue shirt, blue pants and black tennis shoes. He also wears glasses.

Authorities believe Wadsworth might be driving a white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with North Carolina license plate XTN3551.
