Wreck involving bicycle, dump truck closes Aviation Parkway intersection

Morrisville police shut down Aviation Parkway at Evans Road Thursday morning due to a wreck involving a dump truck and bicyclist. 

Officers responded to the area before 8 a.m. after the dump truck, which was loaded with rocks, overturned. The bicyclist involved in the wreck suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, police said. 

It wasn't clear what caused the wreck, but authorities were directing traffic at the intersection because the traffic signal was out. 

Drivers were warned to avoid the area until at least 9 a.m.
