Man accused of peeping at Edgecombe County gym

The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Sunday who they say secretly recorded customers at a local gym.

Thomas Gray Owens, 29, of 849 Norris Road in Speed, was charged with two counts of secret peeping and was jailed in the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.

Investigators say they received a complaint on Friday about recording devices in tanning booths at B&G Fitness in Tarboro and that additional charges are possible.

B&G Fitness posted a message on its Facebook page Saturday, saying it was cooperating with authorities about "an employee's misconduct while on duty" and that the employee has been fired.
